Alvin Chaudoir Obituary

Alvin J. "Joe" Chaudoir Jr., 86, Algoma, passed away Nov. 11, 2017 at home with his family at his side after a seven month courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Forestville on May 2, 1931 to Alvin and Dora (Miller) Chaudoir Sr.Joe attended Victory School in Forestville and graduated from the Algoma High School in 1949. He worked at the Algoma Plywood before joining the Marine Corps from 1952-1954. After his honorable discharge he resumed working at the Algoma Plywood for 20 years and finished his career with 10 years at Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay. Joe married Patricia Perlewitz April 2, 1955 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma. Joe was a member of the American Legion Post 372 in Forestville for 50 plus years, he was an American Legion Honor Guard member for many years and was a Union President for local 1521 of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America.Joe enjoyed snowmobiling, being in the woods cutting trees for fuel, going to Las Vegas and listening to Country singer George Jones.Joe is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Sheree Chaudoir, Neenah; son Jimie Chaudoir, Minneapolis, MN; sisters Gayle (Chuck) Gulley, Forestville and Betty Mueller, Luxemburg; brother-in-law Robert (Mary) Perlewitz, Sturgeon Bay. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers-in-law Orlan Mueller, Raymond, Harold and Gordon Perlewitz.Family and friends may call at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017 from 9 AM until the time of services at 11 AM with Rev. John Moll officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery with full military rites.The family wants to give a special thank you to the following people, Marla and Jim from Ministry, William and Lynn for physical therapy, Heather, Patti and Gwen from Unity Hospice, Kevin and Cheryl Clark, Jan for making it easy for Sheree to be at home, Rosie Meyer and Kathy Herlache.The SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, assisted the family with arrangements.Send your online condolences to www.schinderle.com
