Alois Joseph Seidl 93, Algoma, died Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit. He was born in Luxemburg on June 30, 1918, the son of Joseph Jr. and Barbara (Linzmeier) Seidl. He served in the US Army Air Corp in WW II in the Medical Detachment Stationed in Pecos, Texas from 1941 - 1945. He married Betty Jonet on July 27, 1944 in Tonet at St. Martin's Church He was a kind, gentle, hard working farmer whose love for his land and cows was only surpassed by his love for his wife and family. Driving his Farmall B tractor and eating cookies were tow of his favorite things. later in life he spent many hours watching the deer, rabbits and pheasants on his land. Alois and Betty worked the family dairy farm together for 48 years. He was so proud that his farm is still a working farm. He also worked at Plumbers Woodworking for many years and the Sturgeon Bay Shipyard during winters Alois is survived by his six children Donna (Daniel) Zastrow, Algoma; Marie (Dwight) Hurley, Two Rivers; Alois Jr. (Lois) Seidl, Luxemburg; Ginny (Eddie) Baum, Algoma; Charmaine (Steven) Sullivan, Sturgeon Bay; Sue Ann (Rick) Kinstetter, Kewaunee; 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law Martha Annoye, Luxemburg; Barbara Jandrin, Algoma; Viola Seidl, Kewaunee; and one brother-in-law Cy LeCaptain, Forestville. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, one grandson Rory Sullivan, one son-in-law John Wilquet, three brothers Sylvester, Norbert and Charles Seidl, seven sisters-in-law Clara Balza, Lorraine Rubens, Marie Rollin, Ceil LeCaptain, Lucy Jonet, Mabel Seidl, and Judy Seidl and five brothers-in-law Elmer Balza, Harry Annoye, Lionel Rubens, Francis Jandrin and Lee Rollin. Friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating. Entombment to follow at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Green Bay. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit for all the care and kindness given to Alois during his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Mary Catholic Church, 118 Church St., Algoma, WI 54201 in memory of Alois J. Seidl.
