Allen W. Everson, 84, Town of Claybanks, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 19, 1931 to William and Alvina (Slavik) Everson in Sturgeon Bay. Al graduated from the Sturgeon Bay High School and then entered into the Air Force where he served from Dec. 1950 to Nov. 1954. During his service time he married Betty Johnson in Texas on May 19, 1951. After his discharge he moved back to the Sturgeon Bay area and ended up working at Fort-Howard in Green Bay as a converting mechanic for 37 years. After he retired he was referred to as the neighborhood mechanic and also worked on stock cars.Al is a member of the Tanum-forest Lutheran Church and was a member of the VFW Post in Algoma.Al is survived by his wife Betty of 64 years, his four children, Bill Everson, Ashwaubenon; Gary (Renee) Everson, Duvall; Pam (Dave) Nowak, Bonduel; and Ken (Lisa) Everson, Hobart; his foster son Harold Johnson, Neenah; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one brother Fran (Arliss) Everson; two sisters Sonja (Bill) Polster and Sandra (Jim) Hansen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law June (Bob) Taicher, Edith Rabenhorst and Dave (Mary) Browne; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son ChrisFamily and friends may call at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 4 - 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov 8, 2015 and then after 10 am Monday at the Tanum-Forest Lutheran Church on County OO in Southern Door County until the time of services at 11 am with Rev. Bruce Pangborn officiating. Burial in the Nicolet Memorial Gardens in the Town of Scott.
