Alice Zimmerman, 83, Pulaski, died peacefully Friday night, January 29, 2016, with family at her side. She was born June 4th, 1932 in Kewaunee, to Art and Helen Daul. At a young age, she married Walter Zimmerman, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Algoma. ln 1949, the young couple had the first of seven children. The Zimmerman family lived in the Algoma area for the majority of their time together. For years, Alice worked at The Hotel Stebbins, touching the lives of many, with her warm and caring personality. Later in life, she worked as a cook and care taker at century Ridge of Green Bay. After she retired, she moved to Pulaski, where she lived with her youngest daughter.Regardless of your relationship with Alice; daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandma, great grandma or friend, there was one common theme, 'FAMlLY'. Alice looked forward to every minute she could spend with her family and friends. The Zimmerman X-Mas was typically at the top of the list' The mountain of gifts under the tree was an indication of 'Grandma's' loving and caring nature. She loved to give !! As the Matriarch of the Zimmerman family, she made sure she took care of all her kids, their friends included. Alice was a 2nd Mom to many ! The 'Coming Out' party on Villa Heights was an annual event, getting family and friends together to celebrate.Alice also enjoyed her sporting events. She loved to watch her kids, grandkids, and great grand kids play ball. She was an avid bowler, loved the Packers, and never missed an opportunity to watch or listen to the Brewers. Alice's cooking was second to none, specializing in Christmas cookies, pie crust, potato salad, and banana bread. She loved to make baby blankets, giving one to each of the grandkids, as well as donating many other s to kids in the community, While in Pulaski, she loved her time with the place family, always beaming as she talked about Allie and Derek. She also loved her time in the pool, taking water aerobic classes. She had the opportunity to travel with family and friends to Arizona, New Mexico, and best of all, Niagara Falls. And who can forget about George Jones, Conway Twitty, and Merle Haggard! Who's Going to Fill Her. Shoes???Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Zimmerman, son, Richard Zimmerman Sr., brothers Myron Daul (Slinger) and Norbert Daul (Algoma), sister, Betty Denamur (Algoma)and son-in-law, Pat Schneider (Algoma).She is survived by her children Nancy Zimmerman, Algoma: Dave (Holly) Zimmerman, Green Bay; Jim (Chris) Zimmerman, Pulaski; Jane (Ron) Granius. Algoma; Mary {Robert) Harris, Algoma; Ann Below (Lenny), Green Bay; Lynn (Mark) Place, Pulaski; sister, Arlene Rohr, Waupun,and brother, Pat (Elaine) Daul, Green Bay, 19 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.Alice's family would like to thank the entire staff at St. Vincent Hospital for their outstanding care and support over the last two weeks, with special thanks to unity Hospice and all nurses that work on the 6th and 9th floor. Visitation will be held from 1 pm until the time of services at 7 pm, Thurs. Feb. 4, 2016 at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME with Pastoral Minister Kathy Zeman officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
