Milton Rodrian Obituary

     Milton Edward Rodrian, 99, Luxemburg, formerly of rural Algoma, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at Sun Valley Assisted Living.  He was born January 18, 1925, in rural Algoma to Jacob and Emma (Svejda) Rodrian.

     Milton married the love of his life Delores Esther Ebert, August 9, 1947, and enjoyed 76 years together.  

     Milton was a self-employed farmer, buying the family farm in 1949.  Milton worked the farm until a back injury led to the sale of the cattle in 1977.

     He was also a US Post Office letter carrier, starting in 1966 and retiring in 1992.

     Milton enjoyed many activities in his 99 years; he was an avid bowler, played fast pitch baseball in his earlier years and slow pitch ball until age 70.

     Milt was a coach for women's summer softball for many years, which his daughter and daughter-in-law played on for over 15 years.

     Milt and Delores were known to be excellent Polka and Waltz dancers.  They were members of the Mr. and Mrs. Saturday night dance club for over 20 years.  They also spent many evenings playing cards with family and friends.  Milt's favorite card game was Sheepshead which he played up until a week ago.

     He was involved in many outside activities, including, Elder and church secretary for St. Paul's Lutheran, Kewaunee County Board of Supervisors for 28 years, 1970-1976 & 1978-2000, chairman of Finance Committee for 12 years, on the Town Board for the Town of Ahnapee for 40 years, Supervisor 1951-1970, Chairman 1970-1981.

     Milton is survived by his three children Steve (Jill) Rodrian, Jill (Terry) Vlies and Scott (Marge) Rodrian; four grandchildren Britt (Blake) Knutson, Joshua (Christina) Ellerbrock, Kimberly Ellerbrock and Kirk (Ashley) Rodrian; 11 great grandchildren Kyleigh, Kacee and Kellen Knutson, Graydon, Clover and Meadow Ellerbrock, Romyn Heling, Corbyn Price and Elliot Roen and Hudson (Milton) Rodrian and Baylor Rodrian; many nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by one son Gary, his parents Jacob and Emma, in-laws Frederick and Viola Ebert, grandson Brent Rodrian, brother Rolland Rodrian, sisters Alice (Herbert) Hagedorn, Mildred (Maurice) Vandertie, Izzy (Harold) Mraz, Elsie (Elroy) Marquardt and Evelyn (John) Schuster; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Frank (Virginia) Prokash, Gabe (Betty) Karnitz, Walter (Lucille) Vandertie, Fritz Ebert and Roy (Bones) Fabry.

     There will be a visitation for family and friends on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma, from 9:00 AM until the Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM with Rev. Joel McKenney and Rev. John Moll officiating.  Burial to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.  

     The family would like to thank Unity Hospice for the special loving care given to Milton, especially Ashley Corsten and Jenny Daubner.  Along with Pam Miller and Hailey of the Assisted living facility.

     The Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, was entrusted with the arrangements for Milton and his family.
